Lection Connection is written so that each précis can easily be used by the Reader as an Introduction to the Reading with the following or similar format:
FOR THE FIRST AND SECOND READINGS:
“In today’s (first/second) Lesson …”
And concluded with:
“The reading begins in Genesis chapter one, verse one.”
FOR THE PSALM:
“In today’s Psalm…”
And concluded with:
“The Psalm begins in chapter one, verse one. We will be reading it responsively by the half verse (or whatever is the custom in the parish).”
FOR THE GOSPEL:
“In today’s Gospel…”
And concluded with:
“The Holy Gospel is written in…”
